Isabel Padilla
(Ph.D., Tenure Scientist at CSIC), joined the IETcc-CSIC in 2020. From 1990 to 2008, she was part of the Metallurgical Chemical Analysis Research Group at CENIM-CSIC, where she specialised in developing off- and on-line systems for chemical characterisation of metallic materials at ultratrace levels (SA-ICP-MS, FI-ICP-MS,…); high-resolution rapid chemical characterisation of metallic materials (LA-ICP-MS). From 2008 to 2017, she joined the Value-Added Materials Research Group (CENIM_CSIC), working on the synthesis of materials from industrial waste (frits, ceramics, zeolites, vitroceramics, hydrotalcites, aluminas, …) using low-cost processes and/or concentrated solar energy. Currently, she is a member of the MEDES Group, at IETcc-CSIC, whose activity focuses on the development of lightweight aggregates, zeolite synthesised from metallurgical waste, and the valorisation of industrial waste through environmentally friendly processes using concentrated solar energy. She has participated in 38 projects, contracts or technical research works, in the development of 10 analytical standards, certifications of 18 reference materials (CRM), and 4 standardisation procedures. She is co-author of 65 articles, 14 books, and 10 book chapters. Co-inventor of 3 patents. She has presented scientific communications at 51 congresses, both nationally and internationally.
