From 10 to 12 September, Z-ONA4LIFE took part in Molecules4Life 2025 in Vila Real (PT), showcasing how circular solutions with zeolites from waste can help reduce pollution and promote sustainable development.
The second International Meeting of Molecules4Life brought together chemists and scientists from different fields to explore sustainable solutions for our planet. This year’s theme, “Molecules4…Sustainable Development”, focused on finding strategies to protect the environment and improve global well-being.
Topics
The meeting focused on five main areas:
- Molecular Flows with Environmental Impacts – Soil, water, and atmosphere
- Environmental Remediation and Pollution Control
- Sustainable Materials – Valorisation of industrial by-products, biopolymers
- Materials for Energy – Energy efficiency, emission reduction
- Food Security and Clean Label Technologies
The event encouraged networking and collaboration between young and senior researchers, bringing fresh ideas and new solutions to the table.
Z-ONA4LIFE Contribution
As part of the programme, Siaw Foon Lee, PhD, from IETcc-CSIC, presented in the Environmental Pollution Remediation session with her work on “Circular solutions: zeolites from waste for ammonia mitigation in real effluent”. This presentation highlighted the innovative work being done in the Z-ONA4LIFE Project, turning waste into sustainable solutions for the environment.
